About This Course

THE FINANCIAL ACUMEN COURSE® (Full-Version)

Welcome to The Financial Acumen Course®. This course teaches about money, debt payoff, and wealth creation. It’s information that isn’t taught in school, but (in our opinion) should be.  The Financial Acumen Course expands upon the overview material covered in PSG’s Life After Debt™ one-hour in-person seminars and online webinars (presented by PSG Certified Facilitators, Coaches and Mentors).  The lessons build upon each other using your actual financial situation, so the course is customized to your unique circumstances rather than simply teaching “general knowledge and theory”.

See the “What You’ll Get Out of It” tab for some specifics of the kinds of strategies and skills you’ll learn in the course.  Most of all, The Financial Acumen Course will make you “money-smart” so you can dramatically improve your current lifestyle and future retirement.

The course is comprised of 15 individual lessons with “explainer” videos, plus introduction, orientation, and summary materials.  There are 21 videos in all.  There is a no-risk quiz at the conclusion of each lesson.  The easy-to-follow lessons explain the material using examples and illustrations, including cited references for the information presented.  With the exercises and quizzes to reinforce the information and provide feedback to you, this course allows you to learn at-your-own-pace at an unbeatable price.

We guarantee that if you implement the tools, strategies and techniques taught in this course, you will not only pay of your debt the fastest way possible to zero, you will also realize a potential net increase of hundreds, if not thousands of dollars per month in actual household cash flow.

All lessons are fully narrated, conversationally.  What does that mean?  The information is presented with illustrations and explanations with a “fireside chat” feel, not as “academic lectures“.

Budget Spreadsheet

We teach you how to create a livable budget, as well as an organizational filing system to help you track your financial records and prepare for filing your taxes.  As part of the course materials, we provide two unique spreadsheets: one for budgeting, and one to help you determine the “cost” of your debt as you create a financial payoff plan to become debt-free.Financial Analysis

Your resulting debt-payoff analysis produced through this course is guaranteed in writing to be the fastest path to debt-free based on the real numbers of your specific circumstances.  Most attendees are able to save tens-to-hundreds of thousands of dollars, and several years, off of their debt situation.  The Financial Acumen Course could very well be the best investment in your financial education that you’ll ever make!

Upon completing this course, you will have a checklist for success in becoming debt-free and building your nest egg for a healthy, wealthy lifestyle.  Again, it is a hands-on course, with each lesson tailored to be relevant to your unique circumstances.  The lessons are based in practical exercises that involve your own actual accounts, debts, and financial situation, rather than simply teaching theory and concepts from an academic standpoint.

So, in a nutshell, this course is directly applicable to you.  Here are some examples of what you’ll learn in the course.

Did you know…

  • Tip: If you direct deposit your paycheck into a high-yield savings account earning 1%-2% interest instead of your 0% checking account, you could create hundreds of dollars per year in interest income with no other effort than simply changing the direction of your cash flow.
  • Tip: Instead of a bi-weekly mortgage arrangement (which results in paying one full extra mortgage payment per year) to pay your mortgage down faster, go with a monthly mortgage payment and send in an extra one-twelfth of the payment towards the principal balance.  At the end of the year, you’ll have paid the same amount of money, but doing it the way we’re suggesting, 100% of your extra payment is applied towards principal.  In a bi-weekly arrangement, the extra payment is principal and interest…   and interest is money you pay with nothing to show for it.
  • Tip: If you make your regular mortgage payment as scheduled, but add the amount of the next month’s scheduled principal portion to your payment as an extra principal payment this month, you cancel the amount of next month’s scheduled interest payment off of your loan.  Early in your mortgage when your payments are mostly interest, you can make a huge dent in your overall payoff time.
  • Tip: Adjusting your thermostat up or down 1° in the summer or winter, respectively, you can save an average of 3% off of your electric bill.  This simple economic life hack can save a few hundred dollars per year without even noticing a difference in household comfort.

Think about it…   You’ll get over twelve hours of solid information like the tips above, explained to you and tailored to your unique household’s financial circumstances.  The Financial Acumen Course typically pays for itself in less than a month if you put the information to use.

We also will provide a free consultation (if you want it) to review your coursework, address your specific questions, and provide some sideline financial and success coaching to get you on your way to a prosperous future.  Upon enrolling in this course, the course remains available for a full 365 days.
